Me and my son went on June 3rd for doors open. It was only in English and only a limited 30 minute tour. There wasn't anything special for kids... other then walking around in here for free. It's ok... it was free so there's that. Maybe on the regular paid visits there are things to do... I wouldn't know. The most impressive thing was the vault and cafeteria. Both of which lasted about 5 minutes and the thrills wear off. We won't be coming back. Once was enough.

  • This is the best museum I've ever been to. The word "museum" is actually an understatement, considering the area was once the actual bunker that would host the most critical government functions in an event of nuclear war. The exhibits are very well laid out, with explanations in both English and French. You get to see the bunker as-is in the 60s when it was still in commission. There are some areas which are out of bounds to non guided tours so it's definitely worth checking out their time tables. The bunker has multiple levels and it's main connection is by stairs, so it might be a challenge to navigate for wheelchair users. There are staff operated lift and I would recommend asking them before visiting. Overall speaking this is a great museum experience, and I strongly recommend a visit.

  • Great window into Canada's history with the Cold War. You've read about the Bay of Pigs but now see how Canada prepared for the nuclear threat. It takes about 3 hours to go through the entire museum and features some confined spaces. Fantastic learning experience for older kids
