  We purchased a beautiful blue spruce for Xmas at Laird's. They have a very organized system were they greet you at the entrance and explain where to locate the many different types of trees and how to know the price based on the colour coded ribbons. They also lend saws and offer wrapping and tying to your roof racks . Prices are reasonable.

  Fun to go and cut down a fresh tree... But the trees themselves are kind of mis shaped and such. The farm itself is a mish mash of trees, buildings, garbage, abandoned vehicles; its very scenic. The staff however was very friendly and helpful. A tractor ride out to another field yielded better trees but still not what i would consider Christmas tree grade. Nonetheless we were there so we cut a balsam fir down anyways with a nice sharp saw that they provided and away we went. The tree was set up and in water within a couple hours. After 10 days its now turning to dust. Its drinking 2+ liters of water a day but dropping hundreds of needles a day. If i touch a branch it goes bare. 4 days to Christmas and I hope it lasts!! I phoned to inquire about this problem and their solution was "well don't touch it".... Lol, thanks! Needless to say i expect better for $65 and will not be doing lairds trees again The loblaws trees are better at 1/3 the price. Go elsewhere.
