  One of the few places in the east end to have a decent Guinness. Try the fish and chips.

  Haggis nachos! Good local pub. Tartans on the walls, hockey on the big screen when there's a game, Newfoundland-style (purportedly, I like them despite that ;) cabbage rolls on the menu, nice welcoming atmosphere. Speaking of the menu, they have the usual pub stuff and a bit more. The Cornish pasty and pot pies are good, so are the scotch eggs, deep-fried pickles (they still need to add deep-fried pepperonis with mustard still), basically I've never had anything bad there. And if you ask... they will make you haggis nachos!!! Where else in Ottawa can you find that? If the owner's reading this, you should have an option on the menu somewhere to "haggis-up" some dishes. Also the staff is nice, and sometimes the owner will come by to chat/ask if we've tried such-and-such a beer (we never ask for them, but that can involve free samples). Also darts, if you fancy a round. Sad they took out the pool tables. Can't speak to the mixed reviews of the fish and chips as that's something I only have home on the East coast. Maybe a review for another time.
